_save a life

On behalf of Project Locus and the homeless community of Baltimore, I offer my sincere appreciation for your overwhelming kindness and charity in donating to our sleeping bag drive last winter. The response to the article printed in the Baltimore Sun was tremendous, and through your effort we raised more than $25,000 and received over 200 donated sleeping bags. Including the 400 bags donated by the Wal-Mart foundation and the additional bags we purchased, we were able to distribute more than 800 sleeping bags to those in need to make it the most successful sleeping bag drive in the country, ever. Thanks to your contributions and to the work of countless organizations and individuals throughout Baltimore to help the homeless, there was only one death last winter attributed to the cold weather. We would also like to give special thanks to the following organizations and volunteers who made it possible for us to coordinate the effort:

Jim and Eugenia Wright
Steve Davis
Nancy and Cheryl at the Wal-Mart district office
the Wal-Mart Foundation
Dan Meisner at Sonny’s Outdoor Sports
The Muslim Council of Baltimore County

This year we have expanded our drive to Boston, Massachusetts, where we will be coordinating the drive with the Pine Street Inn. In Baltimore we will be working with St Vincent de Paul, who will be storing and distributing the bags in our absence. As always, we depend on your contributions to allow us to support those in need.
